Playing in front of former head coach Ergin Ataman once the series moved to Anadolu Efes‘ home court, the team coached by Luca Banchi found a way to beat Besiktas in Game 3.
Winning 94-87 and going up 2-1 in the series against the black-and-white rivals from Istanbul, Anadolu Efes is now one victory away from reaching Fenerbahce in the Turkish Basketball Super League Finals, hoping to get their revenge following last year’s defeat.
Dan Oturu (21 points and 5 rebounds) and Jordan Nwora (19 points) were the highest scorers on the home winning side, while Derek Willis and Shane Larkin put up 13 points each.
For Besiktas, Derek Needham finished with a losing effort of 17 points and 7 assists.
Game 4, which will be played once again in front of Anadolu Efes fans, will be decisive in figuring out whether Luca Banchi’s team will extend their run in the Turkish League Finals.
