Besiktas pulls off a major upset in the first leg of the Turkish league final, beating Fenerbahçe on the road (80-88).
Berk Ugurlu (20 points) led the victory against Jasikevicius’ team. Anthony Brown added 14 points. For Fenerbahçe, Biberovic’s 16 points were not enough for the yellow and black team to secure the win.
Besiktas came to play in the first quarter (16-27). Fenerbahçe reacted after that to level up before the break (42-43) with a great 26-16 run.
Besiktas started scoring from beyond the arc to tie things up before the final quarter (61-62). Alimpijevic’s team kept the lead with less than three minutes remaining (70-77). From then on, Besiktas controlled the end of the match to put the surprising 1-0 in their favor in the Turkish league final (80-88).
