Fenerbahce blew a 10-point lead (69-59) in the final minutes of the fourth quarter against Darussafaka Dogus but Bogdan Bogdanovic’s crunch time intervention gave his team a 79 – 76 victory that keeps the defending champs first in the Turkish League standings, tied with Efes at 18 – 2.

With his team down 73 – 74, the Serbian guard made two buckets in a row and his points 13, to give his team a crucial 3-point lead with 26 seconds remaining.

Brad Wanamaker (Dacka’s top player with 18 points plus 4 assists) scored a quick lay up and Bobby Dixon was perfect from the line. He dropped his 18th point and “wrote” the final score, since Zeljko Obradovic‘s choice to not foul paid off, with the Will Clyburn (14 points, 6 rebounds) and then Scott Wilbekin (13 points) missing their attempts to tie the game.

Dixon also added 6 rebounds and 4 assists, while Nikola Kalinic had 11 and Jan Vesely 10 plus 5 rebounds. Ante Zizic flirted with the double-double for the losing squad, finishing with 11 points plus 9 rebounds.

This result gets coach Blatt’s team further from the top four in the standings with its record now being 13 – 7.  Galatasaray (12-8) got closer to the fifth place after beating Trabzonspor (7 – 13) on the road while, third Besiktas (16 – 4) and fourth Banvit (15-5) proceeded with victories.

Earlier today, Efes crushed Tofas Bursa at home.
