The absences of Jan Vesely and Kostas Sloukas didn’t stop Fenerbahce for doubling its victories over Darussafaka Dogus in the Turkish league semifinals.

It wasn’t as easy as Game 1 for Fenerbahce that had to repel a strong comeback attempt by Darussafaka Dogus to win 95 – 81 and make the 2-0 in the series.

Fener was up by 15 points, 67 – 52 in the mid of the third period and their momentum was pointing towards a blowout reminiscent of Game 1. But Dacka wouldn’t give up so easily…

Coach Blatt’s players began chewing off their deficit and approached 76 – 74 with less than seven minutes remaining. It was then that Bobby Dixon took matters into his own hands and fired multiple baskets to put the defending champs up 88 – 79 and then 93 – 81, sealing the result to his team’s favor.

Dixon finished with 15 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds while Bogdan Bogdanovic had a team-high 18 points for Fener and Nikola Kalinic 15 points. Ekpe Udoh posted a double-double of 13 points, 10 rebounds, dishing out five assists as well.

For Dacka, Brad Wanamaker scored 21 points and Furkan Aldemir had 14 plus 7 rebounds, same numbers as Will Clyburn notched.
