The BSL is back after the All-Star break last week. Anadolu Efes took down Pinar Karsiyaka 89 – 77 in Istanbul in their return to the competition and Ergin Ataman’s team jumped to an 11-5 record
After a tight first half (42 – 39), Efes had a breakout start in the second. A 25 – 10 run in the third quarter led the hosts to an advantage that Karsiyaka couldn’t overcome. The losing side reduced the deficit to single digits but it was too late to fight for the game (77 – 70, 38′).
Vladimir Stimac and Brock Motum scored 19 points apiece for Efes. The Serbian also grabbed 10 boards to complete the double-double. Errick McCollum contributed with 16 points and 5 assists.
Karsiyaka’s DJ Kennedy flirted with triple-double (21 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists).
Early today, Banvit ended Fenerbahce’s winning streak with a close victory. Also, Bahcesehir defeated Turk Telkom in the Turkish Federation Cup final.
Over the weekend, Besiktas beat Trabzonspor at home thanks to Sertac Sanli’s career-high.
