Few days after securing a spot in the Basketball Champions League quarterfinals, Pinar Karsiyaka grabbed one of its most impressive victories of the season in the Turkish League.
With Jarrod Jones scoring a game-high 20 points, the team from Izmir came back from an 8-point deficit early in the fourth quarter to beat Eskisehir 72 – 66 on the road.
Jones had a key impact on both ends (5 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks) to push his team in transition, as Karsiyaka won the final period 22-9 to improve its record to 7 – 14 and climb above the relegation zone.
The aftershock of their elimination to medi Bayreuth in the BCL wasn’t kind for Besiktas that lost at home to Sakarya. Meanwhile, in Bursa, Banvit grabbed a stunning win that might overthrow Tofas from the top of the standings if Fenerbahce beats Darussafaka.
