David Blatt’s team took a potentially key victory over fellow Turkish powerhouse Anadolu Efes.

Darussafaka Istanbul preserved it chances to finish at the Top 4 of the Turkish League regular season by defeating Anadolu Efes 79 – 67 at home.

David Blatt’s players controlled most aspects of the game after falling behind 17 – 21 at the end of the first quarter but they were particularly strong on the defensive end.

Efes managed only 25 points in the second and third period, a stretch where Dacka used to take a  56 – 46, heading into the fourth quarter. They retained a safe lead for the remainder of the match.

Kartal Ozmizrak scored 18 points, Micheal Eric added 16 points plus nine rebounds and Scottie Wilbekin had 13 points for the winning squad.

From Efes‘ side, Errick McCollum finished with a team-high 17 points, Sonny Weems notched 14 points, six assists and four rebounds while Bryant Dunston had a double-double of 13 points/12 boards.
