Ray McCallum and Staton Kidd combined for 46 points and led Darussafaka to a narrow 96-93 road win against Afyon Belediye on Day 8 of Turkish League.
Ray McCallum scored game-high 26 points for Darussafaka while Stanton Kidd was right behind with 20 points in addition to Michael Eric’s 19.
For the hosts, Tyrus McGee scored 22 points while Frank Elegar added 16 points and seven rebounds.
Darussafaka had an upper hand most of the game but Afyon stayed close until the end. The guests had a 25-20 lead after ten minutes eventually going on the break with a 50-47 advantage.
Darussafaka managed to go ahead by a double-digit margin after the break (66-55) but the hosts managed to come back and take over the lead in the fourth (84-83). However, the guests stayed calmer in the final minute and came out on top in the end.
Earlier the same day, Anadolu Efes registered their 7th straight win and Fenerbahce managed to come out on top against a feisty Tofas.
Fenerbahce stayed perfect with 7-0 while Efes and Tofas are behind with 6-2 records. Darussafaka improved to 3-4 while Afyon holds a 2-5 record. Banvit is at the bottom with 1-6.
