After celebrating the 100th anniversary of Olympiacos with a win against Partizan Mozzart Bet in Peace and Friendship Stadium last Friday, Moustapha Fall switched to Round 29 of the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season with his side welcoming archrival Panathinaikos Aktor in SEF on Friday.
The 33-year-old French big contributed six points, two rebounds, and two assists over 17 minutes in Round 28, helping the team coached by Giorgos Bartzokas jump to 21-7, two games clear of second-placed Fenerbahce Beko and three games away from the Greens.
“Every time we face Panathinaikos, it’s going to be a fight anyway. It does not matter if it is a preparation game or a match in the Greek League. It’s always a fight. We know it’s going to be a fight but we approach it as any other EuroLeague game,” he told Eurohoops’ Antonis Stroggylakis, previewing the next edition of the derby of the eternal enemies in Greece, “We want to win and secure the top seed as soon as possible.”
Dealing with a finger injury limited the towering center in recent games. He expects to play discomfort for several more weeks. “It gets better but needs a little more time,” he said, “I hope to be at 100% by next month.”
“For sure, I have more confidence in my moves with the ball right now. In the beginning it was disturbing when it comes to touching the ball and finishing plays ,” added the Paris native.
In his fifth EuroLeague journey and fourth with the Reds, Fall is averaging 6.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per contest over 25 appearances, including 22 starts.
