Days after the frenzy of the EuroLeague Super Cup, the premier basketball competition is ready to kick off the 2026/27 season.
As happens every summer, various players are joining teams contending for the title. With 20 clubs aiming to reach the Final Four in Abu Dhabi this May, Eurohoops highlights 10 under-the-radar signings set to make a splash in the coming months.
Ethan Thompson (Partizan)
It has been a summer of change for Partizan. Players are leaving, others are establishing themselves, and the club is searching for new stars to bring hope to a specific part of Belgrade.
Ethan Thompson—one of the G League’s top talents over the past five years—arrives at Peñarroya’s team ready to shine. The Puerto Rican will bring both scoring and leadership.
Nick Smith Jr. (Real Madrid)
Real Madrid appears to have found the scoring shooting guard it has long been seeking. At just 22 years old, Nick Smith could become a key asset for Pedro Martínez thanks to his ability to decide games.
Even before making his debut—having already joined his teammates in lifting the EuroLeague Super Cup—Smith will provide an offensive boost to one of the competition’s top teams.
Tosan Evbuomwan (Barça)
Barça has completely revamped its squad: 11 new signings, a new head coach, and a system that differs from last year’s under Xavi Pascual. Tosan Evbuomwan could be the player who defines the team’s ceiling during his first stint in European basketball.
With his dynamism and power, the British power forward can help Barça lay the foundations for this new project. He missed the Spanish Super Cup, but he will be Sekulic’s “X-factor” in the fight for titles.
MarJon Beauchamp (Bayern Múnich)
MarJon Beauchamp’s career could get a fresh start in the EuroLeague. He arrived at the G League Ignite as one of the top perimeter players in his draft class, but a lack of offensive development relegated him to a significant defensive role—albeit one where he ultimately fell short of being a difference-maker.
Beauchamp arrives in Germany hoping to help a Bayern team that has struggled to firmly establish itself among the top 10 to 12 sides in Europe’s premier competition.
Garrison Matthews (Olimpia Milano)
Garrison Matthews has been ‘flirting’ with the EuroLeague for years. The former Indiana and Houston player—among others—joins a revamped Olimpia Milano side eager to take the next step in the competition.
He is a sensational shooter. Having him on the court alongside Alec Peters will be reason enough to keep a close eye on Peppe Poeta’s team.
Bobi Klintman (Virtus Bologna)
In addition to Wendell Moore—who could also make this list—Virtus pulled off one of the EuroLeague’s great under-the-radar signings: Bobi Klintman. He went from Wake Forest to Australia before breaking out with the Motor City Cruise, the Detroit Pistons‘ G League affiliate.
The Swedish big man will bring muscle, defense, and offensive versatility to Mumbrú’s squad.
AJ Lawson (Baskonia)
Baskonia has undergone major changes this summer. The departures of Luwawu-Cabarrot, Trent Forrest, and Mamadi Diakite, among others, pave the way for new scoring threats to emerge and give the fans in Vitoria something to dream about.
AJ Lawson fits that bill perfectly. The Canadian combines individual talent with determination and is set to be Galbiati’s go-to option on offense.
TyTy Washington (ASVEL)
Amidst financial and sporting turmoil, ASVEL has managed to secure TyTy Washington, a player for whom the G League had become too small. After stringing together sensational seasons with the Valley Suns and Ontario Clippers, the point guard is poised to become the key leader of Tony Parker’s project.
Having left Kentucky with hopes of shining in the NBA, Washington now aims to deliver his best performance at age 24 and lift the French team in the standings.
Mario Saint-Supery (Valencia Basket)
Mario Saint-Supery’s signing with Valencia Basket has been one of the most unexpected moves in Spanish basketball. The international player—who already boasts EuroBasket experience and is a key figure at Mark Few’s Gonzaga—could become a standout name for the *Taronja* squad.
With Pedro Martínez no longer at the helm, the ACB champions have reinvented themselves to regain their competitive edge. This is where Saint-Supery comes in—a player who represents both the present and the future of Chus Mateo’s national team.
Jaylen Nowell (Beşiktaş)
Thirteen years later, Besiktas returns to the EuroLeague—and does so in style. Jaylen Nowell, who made his mark with the Minnesota Timberwolves, will be the star of Dusan Alimpijevic’s project.
Scoring ability, leadership, and the potential to become one of the EuroLeague’s stars.
