After Guerschon Yabusele survived a Celtics jersey and reminders of his NBA bench role in the previous episode, Jean Montero became the latest guest to face Nikos Pantelis in Eurohoops’ “Feeling Awkward.”
Pantelis began with Montero’s family, challenging him to name all nine of his siblings before jokingly asking him to give one away. The conversation then turned to basketball and Olympiacos’ decision to sign him through 2029 after his breakout season.
Montero was also questioned about reportedly rejecting a lucrative offer to join Olympiacos, but refused to identify the interested club and insisted he had nothing to prove.
The young guard said Georgios Barzokas influenced his decision, prompting Pantelis to ask whether he had “always been a masochist.” Later, Montero was asked whom he would trust with the final shot—and why it should be Evan Fournier—but replied that the ball should go to whichever player was open.
The episode ended with Montero being reminded of his response to criticism from Greek comedian Alexandros Tsouvelas. Having replied “thank you” because he did not understand Greek, Montero was made to call Tsouvelas and apologize—before the two eventually made peace.
