Eurohoops presents you with all champions around Europe for the 2015-16 season.

The 2015-16 season has come to an end with Real Madrid being crowned the ACB champion. Eurohoops has covered all major leagues and below you’ll be able to read about the rest of the champions around Europe.

Albania:
Vllaznia clinched their third title in a row, after beating Teuta in the finals with a 3-1 run. The Albanian champions are likely to compete in BIBL (Balkan League) next season.

Austria:
Oberwart Gunners were crowned Bundersliga champions after sweeping Wels with 3 wins in 3 games. Chris McNealy was decisive in Oberwart’s great series, with top performances in all 3 games.

Belarus:
Tsmoki won its seventh in a row title by beating Grodno 3-0 in the final series. Thus, the team is eligible to play in VTB league in the 2016-17 season.

Belgium:

Oostende became the Belgian champion after victoriously passing through Aalstar’s home in game 4, making the series 3-1. For the champions, Rasko Katic shined, scoring 25 points in the last game, a crucial performance that gave his team the title.

Bosnia and Herzegovina:
Igokea won the title after conquering Kakanj with 3-1 in the series.

Bulgaria:
Lukoil showed total domination over Balkan and grabbed their second consecutive title with a 3-0 sweep in the series.

Cyprus:
AEK Larnakas did it again, grabbing a back-to-back Cypriot title. The champions beat APOEL and end the series in a perfect 3-0. Thaddus McFadden was named Player Of The Year by the league.

Czech Republic:
Nymburk swept over Pardubice with a 3-0 run in the series, repeating last season’s success. Chasson Randle was awarded as the finals MVP, while Jakub Sirina won both the Player of the Year and the Guard of the Year awards.

Denmark:
Horsens IC fought vigorously against Bakken and managed to acclaim the Danish league title in a 4-3 final series. Nimrod Hillard IV was named the Finals MVP, while Bakken’s coach, Israel Martin won Coach of the Year!

Estonia:
Kalev/Cramo’s vengeance for their lost title last season against TU/Rock was sweet, as they overpowered their opponents with a 4-1 run. Estonian league player of the year: Shawn King of Kalev/Cramo.

Finland:
Kouvot managed to beat Pyrinto somewhat easily in their final series, 4-1. From the winners’ side, D.J. Richardson was awarded as the finals MVP.

FYROM:
MZT Skopje conquered Kumanowo with a 3-1 run and very close wins in the final series. Damjan Stojanovski was MZT Skopje’s hero and was named the finals MVP.

Georgia:
Kutaisi beat Dinamo Tbilisi with 3-2 in the final series.

Holland:
Groningen knocked down Zwolle in the fifth and final game of their series (4-1) and became Dutch champions with a homecourt disadvantage!

Hungary:

Szolnok beat Alba 3-1 and earned its third consecutive title in the Hungarian league.

Iceland:
KR won its third straight Icelandic league title by topping Haukar with 3-1 wins in the final series. Michael Craion won both Finals MVP and Player of the Year awards.

Ireland:
On March 20, UCC Demons became the Irish champions, after beating Killester 82-77 in the final. Lehmon Colbert was awarded with the Player of the Year title.

Latvia:
Valmiera stood strong against VEF Riga and became the Latvian league champions with a 4-3 run in the series. Kwamain Mitchell and Arturs Berzins, both from the winners’ side, won the finals MVP and the Player of the Year awards.

Luxembourg:
In the best-of-two series, Amicale was able to win the title over Musel with 2 wins (88-69 / 83-86). Amicale’s Bob Melcher and Billy McDaniel were named Finals MVP and Player of the Year respectively.

Malta:
Cynergi swept Floriana 3-0 even with a homecourt disadvantage and became Maltese champions of the season.

Montenegro:
Buducnost’s 3-1 run against Mornar in the finals wasn’t enough to keep Igor Djaletic “in office”, as the Montenegrin champions replaced him with Vlado Scepanovic. Julius Jenkins was named the Finals MVP, as Bojan Subotic became the Player of the Year.

Norway:
Centrum beat Tromso 85-71 in the final four final of the Norwegian league on March 13. Roy Nwachukwu was the final 4 MVP and Aareon Smith both the Player and Guard of the Year.

Poland:

Stelmet Zielona Gora complete a perfect home country season with a 4-0 sweep against Rosa Radom. Dee Bost became the finals MVP, while Mateusz Ponitka was named Player and Guard of the year.

Portugal:
FC Porto became the new Portuguese champions after beating Benfica 3-1 with a disadvantage.

Slovakia:
Prievidza’s domination over Rieker lead them to winning the title after their 4-1 final series. Alan Arnett of Lucenec became both Player and Guard of the Year.

Slovenia:
Helios beat Zlatorog with a 3-1 run in the series and away from homecourt! The champion’s Marijan Cakarun and Hugh Robertson were named finals MVP and Player/Guard of the Year respectively.

Sweden:
Sodertalje completed their season with a victorious 4-0 run in the final series against Norrkoping. That was Sodertalje’s third straight title. Skyler Bowlin was the finals MVP, while Jaraun Burrows of LF Basket was the Player of the Year.

Switzerland:
Fribourg was crowned Swiss champions after beating Neuchatel with a 4-2 run in the finals. Jonathan Kazadi was the finals MVP and Babacar Toure of Neuchatel became the Player of the Year.

Ukraine:
Khimik won the finals against Dynamo with 3-1 wins. Branden Frazier was the finals MVP, while Dmytro Gliebov of SC Kryvbas was named Player of the Year.

United Kingdom:
Sheffield S beat Leicester R 84-77 in the final of the British league. Mike Tuck was named Playoffs MVP while Rahmon Fletcher was the Player of the Year.
