Nothing went down as expected – and you can check all the scores in our GameCenter – and there’s a new tie at the top with Olympiacos beating CSKA Moscow and having the tie breaking for the moment.

Panathinaikos Superfoods and Fenerbahce Dogus are following them in the third place of the standings and that brings us to the MVP, which was more than easy to pick this week.

MVP

Jamel McLean

With half of Olympiacos front line missing due to injury, Jamel McLean played for everyone, finishing the night with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Considering that he did it against the front line of CSKA Moscow, his feat is more than amazing.

Best Five

  1. Nemanja Nedovic: He scored 26 points, leading Unicaja Malaga in the road win over Barcelona Lassa. With him playing good, Unicaja is a different team.
  2. Alexey Shved: You simply can’t go wrong with him. Once more he scored 25 points on 6/10 threes and also had 6 assists in the win of Khimki over Anadolu Efes.
  3. Arturas Milaknis: After making an amazing shot in the win over Fenerbahce Dogus, this time around he had 20 points on 6/9 threes, leading Zalgiris Kaunas to one more win, this time over Brose Bamberg.
  4. Chris Singleton: This was a close call between him, his teammate James Gist and also Jan Vesely of Fenerbahce Dogus. However, Singleton with 14 points and 10 rebounds made more big plays in the fourth quarter of the win over Maccabi Tel Aviv.
  5. Jamel McLean: He blossomed at Olympiacos in the most amazing way.

Coach of the mid-week: Xavi Pascual

Despite missing his floor general, Nick Calathes, Pascual found the way for Panathinaikos to remain solid and beat Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv which came to Athens in order to prove that they have returned to the elite. Meanwhile, in Barcelona, they are probably missing him badly.

Last word: Bad boy

Luka Doncic is under a global microscope, so everything about him get magnified. His reaction after being ejected for the first time in his career was not ideal and he was punished for that.

However, you are entitled to a mistake when you are still a teenager. The official explanation about the first unsportsmanlike foul which was called on Doncic after hitting Tibor Pleiss is that the refs used the instant replay not in order to change their decision, but only in order to be sure about their initial call which was against the Slovenian boy-wonder.
