Another double-game week has come to an end with lots of memorable performances all across Europe, while no team remains undefeated in the standings. For this Round, all eyes turned to Kaunas, as Alexey Shved posted a huge performance against Zalgiris, as Khimki grabbed a narrow victory.

MVP

Alexey Shved

There are few dominant players in the EuroLeague and Shved defines this category. He had 25 points on 8/18 FG and also 10 assists, four steals and two rebounds. It goes without saying that without him Khimki Moscow Region is a very different team and his game was more than crucial for the road win in Kaunas.

Best Five

  • Maodo Lo: He stole the spotlight from Derrick Williams thanks to an amazing performance in Bayern Munich’s win over Gran Canaria. He had a 28 rating with 22 points, 9/10 FG and five assists.
  • Rodrigue Beaubois: He is having an amazing season and proved it with 24 points, five assists and 6/7 threes as Anadolu Efes got the road win against Darussafaka Tekfen.
  • Alexey Shved: One more big game from one of the biggest stars of the league.
  • Toko Shengelia: A total of 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in the crucial win of Baskonia against Panathinaikos. Not bad at all.
  • Earl Clark: He scored 18 points and missed just one shot (3/3 2p. 3/4 3p. 3/3 FT) for a 22 ranking in total. And his team, Buducnost VOLI, shocked the powerhouse named CSKA Moscow.

Coach of the week: David Blatt

Not only his team beat Real Madrid, but he also gave us this amazing gem.

Last word: The shot clock incident

What happened in Moscow technically belongs to the previous round, however, the aftermath of the clock malfunction dragged until today. EuroLeague opened a disciplinary proceeding, however, the result will not change, because nobody realised what happened during the game. And while nobody can blame anyone without having proofs about what happened, the bottom line remains that a blunder cast a shadow in the best game of the season so far.
