Two and a half year into the Basketball Champions League history, various clubs from 37 different European countries have took part in at least two games. Only two of them have tasted title glory, Iberostar Tenerife and AEK, but neither Spain nor Greece are the countries with the most wins in the BCL history. Greece is actually in fifth place and Spain in sixth.

We might be overstepping a bit. The Basketball Champions League, founded on 21st of March of 2016, takes pride on the vast representation of countries all around Europe. Its priority is that teams mainly qualify based on their national leagues and cup competitions from as many countries as possible. Already, 37 different countries have played a part in BCL’s history, 23 of them have been represented in the Regular Season, 13 have continued in the Playoffs and clubs from six different countries have reached the two first Final Fours.

How do all these countries rank according to their teams’ Champions League victories? Here is the 2.5-year report card: France highlights the rankings being the only country with over 100 wins, Germany follows in second place only two wins over Turkey, Italy sits in the fourth spot and Greece rounds up the Top 5. Belgium is the only Top 10 nation without a team that has advanced to the Playoffs stage; Telenet Giants Antwerp and Filou Oostende hope to rectify the situation this spring.
