We’re halfway through EuroLeague’s third 30-round Regular Season. A perfect chance to compare the 2018-19 midway standings to the 2016-17 and the 2017-18 ones is here. Which teams improved their winning performances and which have more losses? Eurohoops got you covered.
Five clubs have got on the 2018-19 win column more times in their first 15 games in comparison with their previous campaigns midway through the Regular Season. However, seven other saw their total “W” drop. Zalgiris Kaunas is the only team that positioned itself between its two previous midway win tallies. The other three teams haven’t played before in the round-robin format.
Fenerbahce Beko isn’t only leading the pack this year with 14 wins and only one defeat, but marked a new record with its 14-1 first half performance. CSKA Moscow was first midway through the first two 30-round Regular Seasons, but only had 12 victories in both cases. This year, Dimitris Itoudis’ team was held to 11 wins and to third place.
Real Madrid is second with a 12-3 record, much better than its 9-6 and 10-5 halfway performances the two previous seasons. Anadolu Efes, FC Barcelona Lassa and AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan have also improved their winning ways in Europe’s premier competition.
The 2018-19 campaign isn’t kind for the two Greek clubs, Olympiacos and Panathinaikos OPAP, who have secured less wins than their previous campaigns. KIROLBET Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, Khimki Moscow Region, Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv and Darussafaka Tekfen have also recorded better halfway performances.
