Eurohoops readers picked their favourites in four different polls concerning the 2018-19 EuroLeague season. Check to see the results!

EuroLeague has already announced the first All-EuroLeague and the second All-EuroLeague teams, Goga Bitadze is the campaign’s Rising Star, while Walter Tavares was appointed as the Defender of the season.

The Eurohoops editors have also presented their first All-EuroLeague – which turned out to be identical with EuroLeague’s official choice – and second All-EuroLeague teams. And now it’s time for the readers.

Which were their picks? Eurohoops readers unanimously agreed with EuroLeague’s Rising Star award, though they had a different Defender of the season as it was shown in the results. Here are their preferences which also include the MVP and coach of the year.

MVP of the season – 6349 votes

A stunning 42% of the votes went for Panathinaikos OPAP’s Nick Calathes, while Fenerbahce Beko’s Jan Vesely and Kostas Sloukas complete the Top 3 with 24% and 19% respectively.

Defender of the season 1532 votes 

Once again, Nick Calathes got the majority of the votes with 35%. Following, is EuroLeague’s Best Defender of the season and Real Madrid center Walter Tavares with 12%, while Fenerbahce Beko’s Jan Vesely completes the Top 3 with 11%.

Rising Star 4051 votes

Buducnost VOLI’s Goga Bitadze earned an impressive 72% merit of the votes against Rising Star competitors George Papagiannis (Panathinaikos OPAP) and Yovel Zoosman (Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv).

Coach of the year – 8794 votes

In his first season overseas, Rick Pitino managed to turn Panathinaikos OPAP’s course around and led them to the EuroLeague playoffs. Our fans trusted Pitino with 45% of their votes. Following, Fenerbahce Beko’s Zeljko Obradovic with 23% and Sarunas Jasikevicius of Zalgiris Kaunas with 12%.
