Alexey Shved scored 21 points and dished out nine assists as Khimki Moscow beat Enisey 91 – 87 at home to improve its VTB League record to 13-1 and remain at the top of the standings.
Khimki was leading 87 – 77 in the mid of the fourth period before Enisey’s comeback that brought them at a one-possession distance, 90 – 87 with 20 seconds remaining following an unsportsmanlike foul on Dustin Hogue.
Denis Zakharov, Enisey’s top scorer with 26 points, missed the chance to bring his team closer and then Hogue committed an unsportsmanlike foul on Shved. The latter hit 1/2 from the line to register the final score.
Hogue added 19 points for Enisey that dropped to 6-7 with this loss and is currently sixth on the table. For Khimki, Jeremy Evans had 16 points and seven rebounds while Devin Booker dropped 13 points.
