O’Bryant and Lokomotiv continue winning, Kalev take down Zenit

Lokomotiv continued its winning streak in VTB League against Avtodor while Kalev stopped Zenit which was missing four players due to injuries

Lokomotiv Kuban improved their winning streak in VTB League to six with a 97-81 road victory against Avtodor Saratov. Lokomotiv now holds a 12-4 record compared to Saratov’s 4-11.

Johnny O’Bryant led the way with game-high 25 points while Alan Williams notched a double-double with 14 points and 13 boards. Vitaly Fridzon and Sam Dekker added ten points each.

For Avtodor, Ryan Boatright scored 21 followed by Mouhammadou Jaiteh with 18 and Orlando Johnson with ten points. Jaiteh also grabbed ten boards.

Meanwhile, Kyle Vinales banked 11 points in the fourth quarter to hand BC Kalev/Cramo a narrow 76-75 road win over Zenit Saint Petersburg.

Vinales banked 29 points in total while Janari Joesaar added 14. Austin Hollins scored 18 for Zenit which made a six to nothing run at the end but it was too late to change the outcome.

Andrey Zubkov scored 12 and Gustavo Ayon 11 points. It should also be noted that Zenit was missing Mateusz Ponitka, Colton Iverson, Alex Renfroe and Dmitry Khvostov due to injuries.

Kalev improved to 7-8 while Zenit currently stands at 6-9 and is below the playoff zone, in the ninth spot.
