The new gameday in VTB League began with a defensive exhibition by Unics.

Round 6 in VTB League began with Unics Kazan extending its undefeated streak thanks to its win over Enisey at home. Meanwhile, the league announced that the game between standings leader Zenit St. Petersburg and Parma will be rescheduled due to COVID-19 cases among the Perm side.

Unics Kazan – Enisey 75 – 64 

Unics captured its second win of the season in VTB by shutting down Enisey. Jordan Morgan scored 13 points and got seven rebounds for Unics, Nate Walters had 11 points plus eight rebounds while Isiah Canaan and John Brown dropped 11 points apiece.

Leyton Hammonde (17 points, seven rebounds), Mikhail Kulagin (15 points, six rebounds) and Kerron Johnson (15 points) stood for Enisey that fell to 0-4 in its first away game this season. The team from Krasnoyarsk was without head coach Drazen Anzulovic who didn’t travel to Kazan due to “health problems” per the club.

Zielona Gora – Lokomotiv Kuban 99-114

Alan Williams put on a career night as he dominated the game with 34 points on 12-19 shooting, 13 rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block.

Mindaugas Kuzminskas scored 19 for Lokomotiv while Mantas Kalnietis logged 11 points and dished a total of 17 assists to his teammates.

For the opposing side, Geoffrey Grosselle scored 18 in addition to Marcel Ponitka’s 17 and Filip Put’s 16 points.

Avtodor Saratov – Khimki Moscow Region 85-82

An 18-8 closing run marked a tremendous comeback. Former Golden Gopher Nate Mason poured seven out of his 23 points in that stretch. Young upstart Nikita Mikhailovskii added eight points in crunch time.

Alexey Shved with his 17 points become the first player in VTB history with 3,000 points, but fell short of the “W”. Jordan Mickey posted a game-high 24 points.
