Unics Kazan is just one win far from the VTB Finals.

Unics Kazan outplayed Lokomotiv Kuban in the second half of Game 2 of the VTB League semifinals to win 79 – 69 on the road and take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series. The 2021 EuroCup finalist is one victory way from a return to the championship series for the first time since 2016.

Jamar Smith (17 points), Okaro White (16 points, five rebounds), John Holland (12 points) and Artem Klimenko (10 points, six rebounds) stood out from Unics. With the score 65 – 67 early in the fourth period, the Kazan side made a 0 – 6 run and then kept Loko scoreless in the last two minutes of the game to get the win.

Mindaugas Kuzminskas had 20 points, six rebounds, Nigel Williams-Goss finished with 12 points plus five assists and Kevin Hervey also dropped 12 points while getting six boards for Loko that must now win three games in a row, two of them on the road.
