Nick Minnerath needed 12 points to be crowned VTB League 2017 scoring champion and he scored almost thrice as much in the last game of the season

Nick Minnerath finished his debut VTB League stint averaging 23.3 points in 22 games (512 points in total), winning the season’s top scorer honors.

The American forward sealed what was a fiery year by dropping a season second-best 35 points (7/12 2-pointers, 4/6 3-pointers) in the 96 – 84 victory of Avtodor Saratov over VEF Riga. His team had been already eliminated from the playoffs but still managed finish its obligations on a high note.

Over the season, 28-year-old Minnerath shot with 55.3% (142/157) in his 2-point shots, had 37.3% (38/102) in his downtown attempts and 87.7 (114/130) from the line. His season-high was the 37 points he notched in a 97 – 92 loss on the road by Enisey.

He also averaged 6.8 rebounds per game, finishing 8th in the related list.

Alexey Shved of Khimki Moscow was second top scorer with 22.2 points per game. Keith Langford of Unics Kazan finished third (19 p.p.g.), Janis Blums of VEF Riga fourth (17.9 p.p.g) and Nando De Colo of CSKA Moscow fifth (17.3 p.p.g.)
