While CSKA Moscow had no problem dispatching VEF Riga, things weren’t that easy for Khimki Moscow against feisty Astana.

With two seconds remaining and the score 72 – 71 in the game between Khimki Moscow and Astana, James Anderson fouled Ike Udanoh sending him to the line.

Udanoh went 0/2, missing the chance to give a superb win to the Kazakh team while the hosts took a big breath of relief since the last thing they needed following their EuroLeague loss to Olympiacos, was falling victims of an upset of such magnitude.

Thanks to this victory, Khimki improved its VTB record to 4-0, behind 24 points and six assists by Alexey Shved who also scored the game-winning free throws plus a huge 3-point shot for the 70- 69, in his 100th league match.

Anthony Clemmons had 16 points plus six rebounds and four assists for Astana.

Meanwhile, CSKA Moscow dominated VEF Riga 94 – 69 to remain the standings leader, with Cory Higgins scoring 17 points and Will Clyburn adding 15 points plus five assists.

Alex Perez paced Riga with 16 points.
