BK Astana edged VEF Riga at home 67-53 jumping to a 3-9 record in the VTB League. Justin Carter was the man who pushed Astana to the victory today with an all-around performance. The American finished the game with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks which was enough for 21 in PIR.

Astana was off to the better start winning the first half by 11 points (41-30). In the second half, the visiting squad tried to bounce back winning the third quarter 19-16.

However, the hosts played rock-solid defense in the fourth quarter allowing only 4 points in that period. Anthony Clemmons helped Carter with 14 points followed by Larry Gordon’s 11 points. Kaspars Vecvagars had game-high for Riga with 12 points.

With this lost Riga sinks to a 1-9 record. Here’s the weekend VTB action.
