Zenit’s late reaction was enough to get its eleventh win in the VTB League.

Zenit defeated Nizhny Novgorod 92 – 89 in a high paced game in Saint Petersburg. The game was decided in the last minute thanks to a Sergey Karasev’s clutch layup.

Nizhny dominated the scoreboard almost the entire game but Zenit recovered the lead late in the fourth. With 30 seconds in the clock, the hosts were up by three (92 – 89) and they committed a foul. Vadim Panin went to the line but he missed them both and Zenit got the win.

Evgeny Voronov led the winners with 23 points and Kyle Kuric added 19. Stevan Jelovac had 24 points for the visiting side.

Early today, Lokomotiv Kuban was defeated for the second time this season and they lost their first spot in the VTB League. Avtodor got the road win 93 – 90 with Maxim Sheleketo deciding the game at the buzzer. Micah Down led his team in scoring with 22 points while Justin Robinson added 17 points and 10 assists.

Also, VEF Riga escaped with the win 75 – 68 against Enisey in Krasnoyarsk.
