CSKA Moscow needed to register its seventh 100+ game this season in the VTB League in order come back from a 14-point deficit (45-41) in the first half and ultimately overcome Kalev Tallinn away from home.

In their last game before the EuroLeague quarterfinals vs. Khimki Moscow, the “Army Men” beat their opponents 105 – 95 and improved their record to 20 – 2 to remain the sole holders of the top spot in the standings.

Both teams had their offenses running at full speed and it was all a matter of which of the two will pull off the necessary stops to escape from the other. That was CSKA that shut down Kalev with the score 67 – 64 and made a 0 – 16 run that paced them towards victory.

Othello Hunter scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds and Vitaly Fridzon dropped 17 points for CSKA. Nando De Colo added 13 points, eight assists, and five rebounds.

Bojan Subotic and Kristjan Kangur had 20 points apiece for Kalev that sank to the 15th spot and a 6 – 16 record with this loss.
