Alexey Shved was on fire as he dropped game-high 28 points in Khimki’s 76-67 road win against Astana, keeping the team undefeated in VTB League.

Shved shot 6/12 from behind the arc while also adding five assists. In fact, he was the only double-digit scorer for Khimki as Anthony Gill, Andrey Zubkov and Malcolm Thomas stayed at eight points each.

On the other side, Aleksandr Zhigulin scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.

Khimki had a small upper hand in the first quarter (17-15) but it was the second period that proved crucial in this game as the guests made a 12-2 run to go on halftime rest with a 40-28 lead.

The advantage kept increasing after the break to as much as 19 points (58-39) and although Astana managed to close the gap to just five points (72-67), they couldn’t turn the game around and Khimki came out as the winner.

During the weekend, CSKA was merciless against Avtodor and so was Zenit in the clash with Enisey as Brandon Jennings recorded a season-high.

The hosts were fairly dominant this past week but Kalev managed to stun Lokomotiv Kuban on the road thanks to Chavaughn Lewis.

Khimki and CSKA hold the top of the standings as they remain the two teams without a loss while Unics is behind them with a 4-1 record. Tsmoki-Minsk is at the bottom as they are still looking to grab their first win.
