Khimki beats Kalev in Timma’s VTB return

Quite the debut with Khimki for Janis Timma.

Jordan Mickey scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Khimki Moscow defeated Kalev Tallinn 96 – 85. The Russian team overpowered its opponents 31 – 18 in the fourth quarter to get the win and improve its VTB League record to 14 – 5.

Janis Timma had a strong debut with Khimki, with which he’ll finish the season on loan from Olympiacos. The Latvian forward scored 17 points (5/8 3-pointers) in 24:36 minutes during his return to VTB and was a +20 for his team.

Thanks to Arnett Moultrie (30 points, five rebounds) and Tony Wroten (20 points, five assists), Kalev was up 78 – 76 with six minutes remaining. But then Khimki took over, with Alexey Shved (20 points, seven rebounds, five assists) hitting six key points to help his team get the result they wanted.

Kalev dropped to 9 – 11 with this loss.
