Lokomotiv Kuban grabbed a 94-78 victory over Zenit St. Petersburg on the road to clinch the 4th place of the VTB League standings and home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
Mateusz Ponitka had a remarkable game for Lokomotiv, scoring 14 points to go along with a season-high of 13 rebounds and a PIR of 30.
Lokomotiv now holds a 17-7 record and locked into the four seed for the postseason. Zenit drops to 14-11, one game behind Astana in the 6th. St. Petersburg could finish as low as 7th with another loss vs. Astana in the regular-season finale.
