Although CSKA Moscow had a better start, Zenit St Petersburg turned the tables and grabbed an 82-79 road win in VTB League.
Evgeny Voronov led the way with 15 points while Anton Ponkrashov and Austin Hollins added 13 points each. For CSKA, Darrun Hilliard scored 16 in addition to Mike James’ 12 points.
Zenit won both of its games in the VTB League so far while CSKA played three and currently holds a 1-2 record.
CSKA was ahead 27-22 after ten minutes and 49-46 at halftime. Zenit, however, took over leading 66-62 at the end of the third and staying just barely ahead throughout the fourth quarter for the win. It was a tie at 77 with two minutes left but Voronov, Albicy and Abromaitis pushed Zenit to victory in crunch time.
