Mindaugas Kuzminskas combined his VTB League season debut with a win for Lokomotiv Kuban.

Lokomotiv Kuban defeated Kalev Tallinn 87 – 63 in the team’s first game after parting ways with coach Luca Banchi. This win improved Loko’s VTB League record to 4-2 while Kalev dropped to 3-4.

Johnny O’ Bryant scored a game-high 21 points to pace Lokomotiv. Newcomer Mindaugas Kuminzksas dropped 15 points in 20:45 minutes in his second game with the Russian team and his VTB return after his stint with Zalgiris Kaunas in 2013.

Kyle Vinales (15 points, six rebounds) and Aigars Skele (12 points) were the top contributors of Kalev.

On Saturday, Jamar Smith scored 31 points as Unics Kazan downed Parma on the road. VTB defending champion CSKA Moscow and current standings leader Khimki Moscow plus Zenit St. Petersburg had the round off due to playing two EuroLeague games in the following week.
