The Houston Rockets matched the offer sheet of the Brooklyn Nets

The Houston Rockets matched the offer sheet of the Brooklyn Nets that Donatas Motiejunas had signed last week thus keeping him in the team, as Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reports.

The Lithuanian center had agreed to a four-year offer sheet worth $37 million, under some specific and rather unique circumstances. The Rockets had until Monday 11:59 pm (local time) to match this number, which they did, putting a stop to the transfer.

Motiejunas will continue wearing the Rockets jersey, as he has done in the vast majority of the last four years. This is the third restricted free agent who got an offer from the Nets but ended up staying in his old team this year after Heat guard Tyler Johnson and Blazers guard Allen Crabbe.
