James, Singleton, Gabriel and Fotsis refused to take the bus

Four players of Panathinaikos have refused to take the buss to Athens and will return from Istanbul by paying their own airplane tickets.

Despite the initial reaction of the team, most of the players entered the bus which will get them back to Athens.

The four players who refused to take the buss are Mike James, Chris Singleton, Kenny Gabriel and Greek veteran Antonis Fotsis. The rest of the team and the coaching staff decided to comply with the decision of team owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos who voided the airplane tickets of Panathinaikos for the trip back to Athens.

The players who remain in Turkey, are expected to take the 19.30 local time flight from Istanbul to Athens. Coach Xavi Pascual will meet with Giannakopoulos in Athens in order to decide the future of those four players. According to the latest informations from Athens, the intension of Giannakopoulos is to release the players.
