Shengelia is having a great season with Baskonia, he said that he would like an NBA return, however the offer he got from Madrid is good enough in order to keep him in Europe.
According to Eurohoops sources, Shengelia will replace Andres Nocioni who is retiring and he will complete the front line of the “Whites” which also includes Anthony Randolph, Gustavo Ayon, Othello Hunter and of course captain Felipe Reyes.
The deal between Madrid and Shengelia will be finalized after the end of the season, however the two sides are already really close to the final agreement.
The Georgian forward is just 25 years old and he is just entering his prime, despite having already played even in the NBA with the Nets and the Bulls before returning in 2014 back to Europe for Baskonia.
