After winning the bronze medal with Spain in Rio, Jose Calderon has announced his retirement from the national team. With Spain, Calderon won three Olympic medals (two silver ones and a bronze), a World Championship, a European Championship and also two silvers and a bronze in Eurobasket.

His involvement with the national team of Spain dates back in 1998, when he won the gold in the FIBA U18 championship.

Calderon who soon turns 35 only played a 25 minutes total in Rio’s Games.

Next season he will play for the Lakers and he plans to stay active, helping the Spanish national team.
