During the past summer, Bojan Bogdanović decided to end his professional career, and soon he could be taking on a new role.

According to journalist Bruno Feliks, the former NBA player is expected to become president of two-time EuroLeague champion Cibona, the club he represented as a player from 2009 to 2011.

Reportedly, the 10-year NBA veteran is very close to accepting the new role and aims to restore the glory of a club that has produced numerous NBA stars.

Cibona has struggled in recent years, but according to Večernji, the process of consolidation has started, with the idea that Bogdanović should take on the presidency.

The Zagreb-based club, EuroLeague champion in 1985 and 1986, is on the verge of advancing to the FIBA Europe Cup through qualification, and is set to participate in the ABA 2 League alongside domestic competitions.

As for Bogdanović, after leaving Cibona in 2011, he played for Fenerbahçe in Europe before moving to the NBA in 2014 with the Brooklyn Nets. He also represented the Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers, Utah Jazz, Detroit Pistons, and New York Knicks, amassing 719 NBA regular-season appearances with averages of 15.6 points.
