Valencia has been building an advantage over the rest of the candidates to host the 12-team tournament with which ACB is planning to conclude the 2019-2020 Spanish League, per Marc Mundet of Rac 1.

The arena of “La Fonteta” and especially the state of the art training facilities of L’Alqueria are two main factors that contribute towards Valencia becoming the potential favorite. L’Alqueria alone has 13 basketball courts, nine of them featuring top-level hardwood floors. It provides ample room for practices and all the locker rooms needed to support the teams participating in the event.

In the meantime, Barcelona is out of the race to host the tournament. Andorra, Madrid and Las Palmas are also among the candidates.

ACB clubs unanimously voted to complete the season with a 12-team tournament on April 20. A final decision will be taken at the latest on May 31 and will depend on the overall health measures in Spain.
