After 19 lead changes, FC Bayern Munich pulled away in crunch time to secure an 82-66 victory versus ratiopharm Ulm in SAP Garden.
Thanks to a 12-0 run in the fourth quarter of Game 1, the reigning champions in Germany’s easyCredit BBL opened a 1-0 lead in a best-of-five championship series.
Starting the Finals of the Playoffs in style, Andreas Obst tucked in 5/7 three-pointers to share a team-high 20 points with Shabazz Napier. Captain Vladimir Lucic posted a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double. On the wrong end, Justinian Jessup scored a game-high 22 points.
Oscar da Silva, Carsen Edwards, and Elias Harris remained sidelined, while Danko Brankovic, Onuralp Bitim, and Ivan Kharchenkov stayed on the bench for the team coached by Gordon Herbert on Sunday. For the Sparrows, Isaiah Roby and Tommy Klepeisz stayed on the injury list, and Alec Anigbata did not play.
