Among national teams announcing preparation plans for this summer’s EuroBasket 2025, the German and Latvian Basketball Federations scheduled dates for friendly games against Slovenia, which will potentially feature Luka Doncic.

Germany will take on Slovenia in Manheim’s SAP Arena on Sunday, August 10, the DBB shared on Friday.

Earlier in the week, the Latvia’s LBS announced two prep fixtures in Riga with the senior national team of the country facing Lithuania on Thursday, August 14, and Slovenia on Saturday, August 16.

More exhibition games will be added across the schedules of all 24 participating national teams over the next months, leading into this summer’s international tournament, but the German and Latvian federations quickly confirmed potential dates with Doncic.

In the aftermath of the blockbuster trade sending him from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers, the 26-year-old Slovenian guard is currently focused on an NBA championship bid. An extended run in the 2025 Playoffs could hamper international options during the offseason. However, he is widely considered likely to play for the Slovenian national team in the upcoming EuroBasket, especially considering his quick turnaround from the 2024 NBA Finals presented by YouTube TV with the Mavs to the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Piraeus with Slovenia last summer.

With 24 countries heading to Cyprus, Finland, Poland, and Latvia, the next installment of EuroBasket will be held between August 27 and September 14, sbortly before the NBA Preseason to launch the 2025-26 season.
