After wrapping up his NBA season early with the Philadelphia 76ers, Guerschon Yabusele is wasting no time turning his attention to EuroBasket 2025.
Currently training in Miami, the French forward is fully focused on getting his body ready for the summer, staying committed to his usual hard-working routine.
“I’m doing it for myself. The season was long, but it’s the first time I’m on vacation this early. I want to prepare my body for this summer, for the European Championships,” Yabusele told Mary Patrux in an interview for BeIN Sports.
He is determined to be at his best for the French national team. Though the Sixers missed the playoffs, the 29-year-old made the most of his time on the floor, often stepping into the center position due to injuries across the roster.
Now, with EuroBasket approaching and Frédéric Fauthoux set to announce his squad in late June, Yabusele is locked in.
“We all know it’s one of the toughest tournaments — it’s going to be physical and intense. I want to have everything on my side to give myself the best chance to perform. I’m still excited to join the French team for the Euro. Some teams have really improved, and the overall level of the competition is going to be really high. It won’t be easy, but we’ll be ready — we can do something.”
With Olympic silver, a return to the NBA, and new challenges ahead, Yabusele is aiming to add another highlight to what he calls possibly the best year of his career.
