Portland Trail Blazers forward Deni Avdija headlines a 20-man preliminary roster of the Israeli national team ahead of the 2025 EuroBasket.
Per FIBA, the preliminary squad of Israel is the following:
Deni Avdija, Oz Blayzer, Ethan Burg, Khadeen Carrington, Tomer Ginat, Roi Huber, Yair Kravitz, Gur Lavi, TJ Leaf, Nimrod Levi, Yam Madar, Rafi Menco, Guy Palatin, Ben Saraf, Itay Segev, Roman Sorkin, Bar Timor, Noam Yaacov, Idan Zalmansson, Yovel Zoosman
The list includes new Brooklyn Nets wing Ben Saraf but not his fellow rookie and teammate, American-born center Danny Wolf since the latter plays with Israel as a naturalized player. Hapoel Jerusalem guard Khadeen Carrington, who participated in the 2025 EuroBasket Qualifiers, will have the naturalized player spot.
Avdija, Israel’s biggest star, is returning to the national team for the first time after the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers. He comes off the most productive season in his NBA run so far, averaging career-highs 17.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.7 rebounds in 2024-25.
