In the Final of the FIBA U20 EuroBasket 2025 in Greece, Italy overpowered Lithuania, 83-66, to secure gold in the junior tournament for the first time since 2013 and third overall.

Francesco Ferrari dropped a game-high 26 points with 9/16 field goals. Elisee Assui followed with 17 points and nine rebounds. David Torresani chipped in 13 more points.

Down the stretch, the team coached by Alessandro Rossi restored a safe lead to clinch the gold medals. An 18-point advantage in the first half was reduced to five points midway through the third quarter, and another double-digit distance went down to nine points with 3:40 left in the fourth quarter.

Ferrari, 19, ended up with 15.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game to collect the Most Valuable Player award. Naturally, he was also named to the All-Star Five, alongside France’s Roman Domon, Lithuania’s Mantas Juzenas, Serbia’s Pavle Nikolic, and Greece’s Alexandros Samodurov.

On the wrong end of Sunday’s clash in Heraklion, Lithuania settled for silver medals. Aleksas Bieliauskas had a 17-point, 12-rebound double-double.

In the bronze-medal game, France beat Serbia, 73-62. Petar Majstorovic and Amael L’Etang stood out with 15 and 14 points.
