Recently, Luka Dončić was the center of the basketball world’s attention after signing a three-year, $165 million contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Following the official press conference—where he discussed the new deal, his ambitions, and noticeable physical improvements – he traveled back to Slovenia and joined the Slovenian national team’s training camp ahead of the 2025 EuroBasket.
“It’s always nice to see your national team teammates,” Doncic said per the Slovenian Federation. “There are some new faces in the team, but I’m sure we’ll get used to it quickly. I know the boys have been training great these days and I’m already looking forward to Friday’s match against Germany.”
The Lakers star continues his tradition of spending summers with the national team, preparing for and competing in international tournaments.
He won the 2017 EuroBasket with Slovenia and has represented the national team at the 2021 Olympics, 2022 EuroBasket, 2023 World Cup, and last year’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Greece. He is now preparing for his third European championship.
