The Slovenian national team continues to strengthen its support system ahead of EuroBasket 2025, with Greg St. Jean officially joining the coaching staff.
The former Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers assistant reunites with Luka Dončić, returning to the Slovenian bench after also assisting during preparations for EuroBasket 2022.
St. Jean worked closely with Dončić during his time with the Mavericks (2021–2023) and most recently served as an assistant coach with the Lakers.

His addition follows the appointment of Donnie Nelson — the former Mavericks general manager who drafted Dončić in 2018 — as a special advisor to the Slovenian Basketball Federation, a move announced last month in Ljubljana.
Meanwhile, the most important piece of the puzzle has also arrived. Luka Dončić joined the national team’s training camp on Tuesday, after officially signing his three-year extension with the Lakers.
With Josh Nebo and Vlatko Čančar ruled out, head coach Aleksandar Sekulić now has his key player available as Slovenia heads into an intense stretch of preparation games. Between August 8 and 21, the team will play friendlies against Germany (Ljubljana and Mannheim), Lithuania (Šiauliai), Latvia (Riga), Great Britain (Ljubljana), and Serbia (Belgrade).
At EuroBasket 2025, Slovenia will compete in Group D in Katowice, alongside Poland, France, Belgium, Iceland, and Israel.
