Porzingis is expected to be the star of Latvia in his senior national team debut and he will not have an easy task. Latvia will face Serbia, hosts Turkey, Russia, Belgium and Great Britain in the preliminary round.
However, Porzingis believes that his team will make it to the final phase of the tournament and he is already calling out his New York Knicks‘ teammates, Spain’s Willy Hernangomez and Lithuania’s Mindaugas Kuzminskas. Both Spain and Lithuania are expected also to qualify for the knock out phase.
