Valencia will face Virtus Bologna (4/5) and Andorra will fight against Bursaspor (3/5) in the 7DAYS EuroCup semifinals which are scheduled for the 3rd and 4th of May.
Two of the main favorites to win the title will play eachother as expected with Virtus prevailing over Ulm and Valencia beating Boulogne Metropolitans 92.
On the other hand, Bursasport after beating Partizan on the road did the same against Cedevita Olimpija, while Morabanc Andorra got the win over fellow ACB team Gran Canaria.
In the new EuroCup format the 16 best teams of the regular season are facing each other in knock out games, a cruel but exciting format which can be considered the European answer to NCAA’s March Madness.
It has to be noted that the winner of the EuroCup will get a spot in next season’s EuroLeague. The second EuroLeague spot which was reserved for EuroCup, is already awarder to former EuroCup winner Monaco after making the EuroLeague playoffs, according to competition rules.
