Dusan Alimpijevic has signed a two-year contract extension with Besiktas Fibabanka.
Team president Serdal Adali announced the deal with the 39-year-old Serbian expert during a press conference on Wednesday.
Alimpijevic, a former 7DAYS EuroCup Coach of the Year, has been in charge of Besiktas since the start of the 2023-24 season, following earlier head-coaching jobs with Frutti Extra Bursaspor, Avtodor, Crvena Zvezda, FMP, Spartak Subotica, and Vojvodina Srbijagas. Under the new contract, he committed until the end of the 2026-27 season.
The 2024-25 continental campaign concluded in March, at the Eighthfinals of the BKT EuroCup, with a loss versus Cedevita Olimpija. A 10-8 W-L tally in Group A of the Regular Season ranked fifth overall and set up a meeting with the Ljubljana outfit for a ticket to the Quarterfinals of Euroleague Basketball’s second-tier competition.
Domestically, the team based in Istanbul is set to start a best-of-five series against Anadolu Efes in the Semifinals of the Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi Playoffs 2025 on Friday. With homecourt advantage from ranking second in the Regular Season, Game 1 will be played in the BJK Fibabanka Arena.
