Moving from Italy back to Turkiye again, Ante Zizic has signed a contract with Besiktas to play in the BKT EuroCup.
In last year’s EuroLeague campaign, the Croatian center had 8.0 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, but the team, coached first by Luca Banchi and then by Dusko Ivanovic, couldn’t extend their season through the Play-Ins or Playoffs. Instead, they won the Italian league.
Virtus Bologna has already replaced him by bringing in Ante Smailagic, who played for Zalgiris Kaunas in the 2024-25 season and was officially announced by the black-and-white side.
Prior to his move to Virtus Bologna, Ante Zizic had also played in Turkiye with Anadolu Efes and Darussafaka; he had other experiences with European teams too, such as Maccabi Tel Aviv.
In his career, Ante Zizic had never played in the BKT EuroCup before, but he joined Darussafaka in the 2016-17 season in the EuroLeague following the team’s win in the EuroCup.
