With BKT EuroCup action returning to Israel, specifically at Toto Holon Hall on Tuesday, Hapoel Midtown Jerusalem pulled away into a safe distance in the fourth quarter to defeat Veolia Towers Hamburg, 86-76.
Cassius Winston recorded a game-high 21 points in the only Group A matchup of the evening, with Khadeen Carrington and Jared Harper following at 19 and 17 points, respectively. The league leader in defensive rebounds, Austin Wiley (illness), was a late scratch, with Roi Huber and Nimrod Levi among other sidelined players for the team coached by Yonatan Alon. The German side’s Kenneth Ogbe did not travel to Holon due to injury.
Storming back from an early 16-point deficit, Dolomiti Energia Trento routed JL Bourg, 91-73, in Ekinox, to change the situation at the top of Group B. Matching his career-high with 30 points, Andrej Jakimovski paved the way for the incredible turnaround. The 24-year-old forward connected 8/10 from the field, including two three-pointers, en route to a Performance Index Rating of 43. For the team coached by Frederic Fauthoux, Both Gach went for a team-high 20 points.
Earlier in BJK Gain Arena, Besiktas used a crazy 17-0 run between the final seconds of regulation and overtime to avoid a second regular-season loss to Lietkabelis and prevail, 94-85. Round 9 MVP Ante Zizic followed up with a team-high 16 points. For the Panevezys outfit, which missed Vytenis Lipkevicius and Nojus Radzius, and lost Jamel Morris to injury in the third quarter, Michael Flowers produced a game-high 27 points.
Conceding only four points in the fourth quarter, Niners Chemnitz secured a comeback win, 73-68, against Panionios Cosmorama Travel. Amadou Sow stood out with a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double. On the losing end of the Round 10 contest, Jaylen Hands scored 19 points.
