Kostas Antetokounmpo is set for a loan assignment at Aris Betsson.
Seeking an upgrade in his playing status for the remainder of the 2025-26 season, Olympiacos is expected to soon officially confirm the loan of the 28-year-old center.
A former NBA and EuroLeague champion, the brother of Milwaukee Bucks teammates Giannis, Thanasis, and Alex, is entering the BKT EuroCup for the first time in his career. Switching to the second tier of Euroleague Basketball, he meets the Thessaloniki outfit at 6-6 in Group A of the Regular Season, amid a battle for a postseason berth.
The Athens native is a veteran of 78 appearances in Europe’s premier club competition, spread from Panathinaikos AKTOR, Fenerbahce Beko, and LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne to three games with the Reds this season. He was crowned champion with the Greens in 2024.
Back in 2020, he captured an NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers, en route to a total of 22 features in the league across spells with the Lakers and Dallas Mavericks. He was initially drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 60th selection in 2018.
Internationally, Kostas won a bronze medal with Greece in EuroBasket 2025. He earned more caps in EuroBasket 2022, FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments in 2021 and 2024, and the Qualifiers of the 2023 and 2027 installments of the FIBA World Cup, and EuroBasket 2025.
Jordan Ford powers up Bahcesehir
Elsewhere in the EuroCup field, Bahcesehir Koleji picked up 27-year-old combo guard Jordan Ford on Friday. The former Saint Mary’s standout resurfaces in the league after 18 appearances with Dolomiti Energia Trento last season, amounting to 16.4 points per contest.
Also, Panionios Cosmorama Travel hired 57-year-old Nenad Markovic as the new head coach on Tuesday and added 32-year-old guard Joe Thomasson on Wednesday.
